Problem With customer Selecting Evri

I had a customer who could not bid on an item and I spent so much time attempting to sort this out either by fruitless chat to a robot or speaking to people in the Philipines, Germany and South Africa. Hours and hours. Eventually customer said that she would get a neighbour to bid on the item. They won the item, paid but they purchased a label from Evri. Evri does not operate here. The POs refuse to have anything to do with them. The nearest drop off point is over 60 miles away. I live remote. I was told by customer that they have bought the postage and are not prepared to buy another Royal mail 48 hour tracked postage which is what I normally post. I did not select Evri as I don't have any faith  in them and because of the distance. The order is reckoning that the item has been posted and there is a tracking number, but I cannot travel a 120 mile round trip to post one parcel. It's just not feasible. The whole thing has been an utter nightmare.

Anyone any idea how to resolve this as with hardly any sales this is just so unbearable.

Thanks in advance.

Problem With customer Selecting Evri

The person is getting extremely  rude and accusing me of being dodgy and how come I didn't pots it and she doesn't believe I live so far from a PO. She wants to know why have I not posted it etc etc etc.

Thing is this is now the neighbour sending me abusive messages.

I am so tired of this.

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Problem With customer Selecting Evri

speak to the buyer apologise explain etc  do mention that eBay shouldn’t have allowed evri to appear at all seeing as the distance from you to them is ridiculous

then Cancel the order and tell them if they want to go ahead again to rebuy ..give them the new listing details

disable evri from your postage preferences

That’s my opinion

others might offer different help

Good luck

eta your items look like they’re not on simple delivery so how did they chose evri

A slight exageration Garve to Inverness is around 25 miles  unless your location is wrong on your listings  but still a 30 minute journey -  I would imagine you are in a fairly close knit community - does any one work in inverness or shop there  who could drop it off for you - there are several drop off shops in and around inverness.  I would imagine in a rural community it is quite common to help each other out now and again.

The other alternative is to ship by Royal Mail as you normally do - the SD label unused will be credited back to the buyer - you do not need to do anything.

You could ask the buyer to reimburse you the amount they are refunded when they get it or just swallow the cost  to save you having to find a way to get the package to Inverness.

Or you can cancel the order losing the sale

Problem With customer Selecting Evri

Unfortunately that does not surprise me, your location is definately disadvantaged with regards to Evri - anyone living in a more populated area will have no understanding whatsoever of the lack of service you receive, this in reality isolates you.

Having lived in Rural Cornwall where Evri make a £2.75 surcharge because it is remote I get the frustration but where you are it seems the world of Evri stops at Inverness - unlike Royal Mail they are not compelled to operate in non profitable locations.

I wonder whether ebay are aware that Evri do not operate in your location or even within 10 miles which would just about be acceptable - you get used to travelling living in the more remote locations to get even the basics, let alone what most people take for granted.

I would be tempted to ring the buyer if you have their number to explain - I doubt they would be quite so bolshy on the phone.

Moving forwards I would increase your prices to include postage and then if Evri is chosen again - ignore and ship by RM letting the buyer know that you have shipped by RM because Evri do not operate in the Scottish Highlands  and that you have arranged for ebay to refund the postage fees and that once they receive the refund they could if they wished pay you for the change of carrier.

Include a slip in the package with the RM fee or a nominal amount and your paypal address to make payment by family and friends - IF they do - Bonus - if not no matter.

In theory any refund for the unused label should go to the seller as they are paying for the label when free postage is offered not the buyer (assuming the buyer selects 'Standard' delivery and not 'Express' delivery).
