How do I cancel a Simple Delivery label I created minutes before a buyer messaged me to cancel the order.
I tried via the 'Postage Labels' tab as I have done previously, but it says that I cannot cancel the label.
If I cancel the order that means I am out of pocket £2.72.
Surely there has to be some way to recoup the lost postage cost?
Does that mean out of all the millions of cancelled orders across ebay every day ebay get to keep the money paid for the labels without reimbursing ?

If you listed it as seller pays use this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/claims/simple-delivery/refund/seller?mkevt=1&mkdid=4&mkcid=30&bu=45849989088&...
I am not sure, nor are others, whether ebay will refund automatically on a cancellation like they do to the buyer when the buyer has paid.
I doubt that you would get any sense out of customer service if you asked going by their knowledge of simply delivery displayed in the postings here.

Nicked from another post, they should be able to tell you what to do
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid
Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.
Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.
I recommend contacting CS first thing in the morning as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

My post , @edwardian-dreams but you're allowed to ' nick' anytime !
@slj-bargains under Special Delivery listings that Buyer pays, they are automatically refunded if the label is not used, but this can take up to 30 days.
If you had seller pays for postage, then you have to cancel that label within 14 days to receive a refund here:

I am sick of this Simple label. It has caused me so much loss of profits. The QR code weight never is the same as my local Post Office. They say you cannot top it up, so I have to buy a whole new QR code at the PO. This has caused me to rethink if I want to sell on eBay any more. eBay keep their money for the dudd QR code!!

I'm not a fan of how simple delivery has evolved since launch - imo sellers have been given far too much 'homework' just to keep up. I read the pages and pages of og info when it first came out, included in this was the fact that as long as you accepted the default option offered then you would never be 'hit' for any extra charges. Fast forward to today when I learn that the default option I accepted for my latest sale (where I paid the postage) is a size that is not even big enough to hold the item unboxed! With a clear note on the orders page saying that if I dispatch and exceed the size or weight picked then I will incur additional charges - so somewhere along the way the 'deal' has changed. If I still have to weigh things and measure them as I do my listings, to avoid this happening again, then what is it all about? Also I have some relists where, all of a sudden, simple delivery is not available now and, if I want to know why, then I just get sent off to the latest spew and pages and pages of website to read up to try to work it out for myself....rant over!
