I entirely get where you are coming from in your numbered points but you're missing the change in circumstances.
You no longer control anything to do with postage.
That is entirely between eBay and the buyer. So that part of the contract of sale is entirely based on their agreed terms.
This is why I have been calling certain elements TRAPS.
Ebay told sellers they would have a maximum of 3 days turnaround for orders.
But as you have noticed they are giving exact dates/2-3 day delivery times for buyers.
That means we basically have to send next day to fulfill their terms of sale.
If we don't we make them liable for claims.
There's no way eBay haven't seen this, so what do they have planned?
Before, even when they weren't liable, they used to sanction accounts for late delivery and not as described claims. Now that they are, what do you think they may do.
Keep in mind they have your money and their terms and conditions specifically refer to if we give them legal liabilities they can sanction us as they choose. Paraphrasing, but that's the gist.
So, it's almost certainly a TRAP.
Being able to deselect Royal Mail is another TRAP. They are the only courier with full UK coverage.
It's a perspective thing. It is incorrect for you, yes, unquestionably.
But it's also doing exactly what they want.
