Just sold some earphones, and just sent them off. Took them to the local Evri parcelshop. The guy told me the system had changed. He handed me his phone, and told me I had to enter my name and email address, which I did and handed it back to him. Then he just told me to drop my package in the post back that was in the corner and that was it. Every other time I've dropped off a package I've got a receipt. So I'm supposed to hand over items now leave with no proof I've actually sent anything???

Has the tracking updated for the item on your sold list?

Yeah, it says "We've received your parcel at the ParcelShop and will be collecting it shortly".
But I've been selling stuff for years and every single time I've been given a receipt, either at one of these drop off places or at the post office.

If you Google Evri drop-off it does say they've stopped paper receipts in favour of emailed ones. The main thing is that the item is in their system and you have proof via the tracking.

I haven't got anything in my email.

True, they are not giving out receipts at the moment. I left my email and did receive the email from Evri, but it is time-consuming because you have to leave your email all the time. As someone said, you can always track it; that is proof that they got it.

Very true, Evri has been giving receipts for over 8 years, but now they've stopped paper receipts in favour of emailed ones.

This is now correct - no more paper receipts only email ones - however you need to make sure that if you hand in 3 parcels you get three emails confirming.
The shop i use for evri drops is still getting to grips with this new way of doing it.
RM still print good old receipts off and hand them to you

Hi
If you drop your Evri parcel off at the post office, they still give a paper receipt, but, yes other shops (newsagents etc) you enter your email address and sign.
An email confirmation will then be sent.
Best wishes

I haven’t received any emails on 2 occasions now so have no proof of return as it doesn’t even show up on Evri tracking! I emailed Evri 4 days ago about this but no reply from them!

Had the same issue yesterday - 6 parcels dropped off - but no emails to confirm.
Dropped two off today - emails within moments.
Must still be teething problems

I've just experienced this for the first time. It wouldn't accept my email address after two attempts. I asked the shopkeeper if, maybe, it had to be the email address of the person who bought the postage (the eBay buyer). He didn't know. But I contacted the buyer and he gave me his email address and that was accepted. Has anyone else had this issue?

This new system is infuriating, especially when combined with eBay's so called 'simple' delivery. Having to enter your email address every time a parcel is dropped is faffy, error prone and time consuming. I want to arrive, scan, drop and leave, not have to fumble around on the store's 'smart' device that doesn't even include the @ symbol in the default keyboard display! Some form of Evri customer card that had a scannable code containing these details would be better - does nobody in tech think these things through?

But it will only "track" if they dispatch the parcel from the shop, that`s why we need a receipt!

Yes this is ludicrous, I just dropped a parcel off and as you say they expected me to type in my email address and name into a tiny phone, I`m 75 years old and came out without my glasses, well I just about managed , I thought I may have done it correctly! My wife was wondering where I had got to (She was waiting outside in the car) and then I had to wait several more minutes to receive an email, which I didn`t know was going to come or not, before I could leave the shop.
EVRI.... what are you doing? and EBAY "simple delivery?"

I saw this happen to the person in front of me at the shop I drop all my parcels off at , so asked the shopkeeper about not getting a receipt with Evri.
He said the way around having to type in your email every time is have the Evri app on your phone and type in the tracking numbers of your parcels before you go into the shop. Then when they are scanned in you can see that on the app and so you have confirmation without needing to do the faffy email thing.
Haven't tried it myself ( I don't use Evri atm but might be forced into it at some point) but offering it up in case it helps...

i put in my email a few times but do have to say about half the time i did not get a confirmation sent trough . though i'm on good terms with the drop off point so i know the parcels are scanned properly .
to be honest now i just pass on putting the email in as i can see that te system updates it as received

I have the same problem. What do we do?

The tracking should be in their system. Have you received any case for item not received?
As a Private seller you have to use Simple Delivery, these items protect sellers against loss in transit, that is, if a buyer opens a case for item not received, eBay takeover , they pay the buyer the refund, and you get to keep the payout.
