Didnt use ebay postage but tracked

Hi haven't sold anything in a while and didn't realise needed to use ebay label. Can't change this on the item sold but did post by Royal Mail tracked. I can't report to ebay and have messaged the seller to explain and give tracking reference.  Not sure they are happy as ive had a note they have reached out to ebay.  I actually don't seem to have selected simple delivery on my account but had to generate a label to see customer address.

eBay have recently removed the option to upload a different tracking number.   Apparently they have suggested putting it in Note to self/Add note for the item on your orders list but I'm not sure how that would help.    If necessary, you would be able to add the number to an "Item not received" case if one was opened.

Thanks for your response...I was a a bit worried initially but I  didn't realise you can still post in the normal way too..I did add a note not that that makes much difference.. seems there are lots of issues though generally from these posts

The message about the buyer 'reaching out' is almost certainly due to you sending a message to your buyer and your listing being simple delivery even if you didn't post that way.

It probably doesn't mean your buyer has done anything or made any contact.
