I recently tried to send some outsize parcels. It was a really hard and clunky process!
- There is NO option for DHL anymore (contract cancelled?) so I had to contact ebay support who in turn had to manually change my listing so that the outsize option with ability to purchase my own postage would appear
- If you purchase your own postage that suddenly places you outside of the realm of simple delivery and you have to deal with any claims yourself
- Evri is NOT an option for large/long items because every parcel shop I have tried rejected the parcel saying they don't accept large parcels and I must order pick-up instead. The ebay Evri delivery you buy as part of Simple Delivery is drop-off only.
- Royal Mail/Parcelforce works best for me but with simple delivery the max largest dimension is just 61 so excludes anything long or large. Talking to ebay customer service a few weeks ago they seemed to intimate that it was possible to present a parcel larger than the stated max dimensions and that RM would tacitly accept it without charge but I feel uncomfortable about that should a claim arise and it then surfaces that the parcel was larger than the stated max dimensions.
- I have sold a few items now using my own postage but it's such a tedious process, compared to Simple Delivery which I have found to be...simple!
Has anyone had any success or good experience with large parcels lately?
