Can't cancel label

I went to drop off a parcel today but realised I accidently purchased the wrong package size (should of bought small parcel instead of large letter), I came home to try and cancel the label to buy a new one but it says "Can't cancel labels that have already been used". On the tracking it says the package has been accepted by the post office but I never dropped it off. I've emailed royal mail customer support, but now have to pay extra out of my own pocket to send this parcel off. Anything more I can do about this?

Can't cancel label

Go back to your post office or wherever you took it and see if they can help.   They obviously scanned it and didn't remove it.

Can't cancel label

Went back to the post office, said that it has nothing to do with them since Royal Mail is a separate company. Will see if they reply back to the email 🙃

Can't cancel label

I have had exactly the same problem as you and cannot cancel the label which the post office scanned and then gave parcel back to me. I phoned Royal Mail and was told that they cannot help because I purchased the label through Ebay. I then contacted Ebay on live chat but they was unable to help me cancel label and have referred my problem to a team who will hopefully reply by email within the next few days.  On checking the tracking number, it still shows my item is at the post office. I'm hoping that when the post office system shows no movement with tracking number, it realises the service has not been used and Ebay system eventually allows me to void label for a refund. Hopefully we manage to get this sorted. I'm sure we're not the only sellers to have had this issue!

Can't cancel label

I had a slightly different variation on this theme - I purchased a label via the usual eBay purchase postage label drop-down. Packaged up the  item (an 80g booklet) in an recycled amazon a5 card envelope for RM Large Letter but then realised that I had  missed the drop down to increase the weight from the default of 100g.

This meant that the package was now 20g too heavy so I tried to void the label on eBay and I got the "Can't cancel labels that have already been used" message", even though the item had never left the house...

Once you buy the label, eBay marks it as despatched even though that has not yet taken place. My solution was to repack the item in an A4 envelope folded over & reprint the label Got the weight down to 100g but not as protective as the card envelope would have been.

Grrrr

I doubt you will be able to void the label to get a refund because it's been scanned.

If it was me I'd try putting in a lost parcel claim with Royal Mail.

If you are lucky you might get a book of stamps but it's better than nothing.

Can't cancel label

I recieved an email from royalmail today saying "As the label was bought from Ebay the refund request is required to be raised with Ebay customer services. If the item was scanned by the Post Office counter employee you will need to explain this to Ebay when requesting your refund."

I did talk to ebay through their live chat a few days ago and basically said they can't do anything and to contact royalmail. Neither the post office counter, royalmail themselves or ebay are able to help. I know its my fault for purchasing the wrong label but it shouldn't be this hard to cancel it 😥 Hopefully they reply to you and able to get it sorted!

Can't cancel label

I'm still fighting this issue!

Ebay sent me a link to contact packlink but they don't deal with Royal mail and told me to take it up with Ebay customer service. I'm just going round in circles at the moment!

I'm tempted to go back to post office to see if they can unscan and remove from their system!

Can't cancel label

Same situation for me - bought a label on Ebay, packed item and took to post office where the guy showed that the item was 1mm too tall to b a 'large letter' - told me I could get a refund on the label so I bought another label there and then, and sent the item. I now can't void/refund the initial label - "This postage label can't be cancelled because it has already been used."

I'm fully pessimistic about ever getting that refunded, so I'll take it as an expensive lesson to just not bother with Ebay labels again - I prefer to send tracked always, which means showing up in the post office... So I may as well secure the 'correct' postage in person everytime. Life lessons!
