About had it with Royal Mail.

So after many failed collections recently and parcels not reaching customers I’m looking to see what the alternatives are to Royal Mail.

Thankfully most customers are understanding but not all and I worry it is going to eventually affect my feedback.

Who else having problems?

how long has it been a problem ? if it,s only been a few weeks i had the same problem normally a phone call to customer service sorts it. in my area it,s been a since  the school holidays as they have driver  shortages around this period.  there are other companys athough you may not find them as good. i.e evri avoid them they will loose your parcel to your customers.

Re: About had it with Royal Mail.

In all fairness it has only been a problem last 2-3 weeks. I have noticed
we seem to have a different postie every day. Worst thing was, one day last
week I heard the postie pit letters through door and presumed he had taken
parcels also…. But no, got a message later saying sorry we were unable to
collect!😩

Re: About had it with Royal Mail.

sounds very familiar. phone the helpline and tell them they will send a message to the area supervisor. in my case this week i have collections but no deliverys. if you can rebook do that if they are manual. if it,s simple delivery contact ebay aswell as they will prob help make sure royalmail pickup. seems strange my end that i have one collecting and one delivery driver but the delivery driver nowhere to be seen

Re: About had it with Royal Mail.

I feel your frustration & as you stated, if your feedback may be affected then you have to think about possible alternatives.

The issue with all courier companies is they will always have issues in a particular area, which may be caused by a variety of issues which they simply cannot do anything about. The summer brings us holidays to their normal everyday workers which can hamper their desired delivery targets.

With my own experience, as an ex Royal Mail employee, I simply travel to my own delivery office & speak with the management. They can always give an insight to possible local or national issues they are aware of.

The main problem lies with the journey of your parcel, as it can be handled by so many different staff members, in different locations. Some processing units have lower than standard results, others are higher. This is the same for delivery offices. Then you have to consider possible issues affecting your parcel when it is being transported.

Ultimately for me, I take a long term approach. Over the last 20 years, Royal Mail have consistently beaten the other courier companies for "efficiency" of delivery. What I mean by that, is how long it takes them to simply deliver a parcel after I drop it off.

As much as feedback is important, it is not you that is shipping the parcel to the buyer. So, if I receive below expected feedback, I just explain in a reply that the delay or non receipt of the item was down to the courier.

I do hope that you start to get a better service from Royal Mail, that is, if you are going to continue to use them 🙂
