I see eBay is introducing another of their little "helpful" changes - now they will be holding on to funds and not paying the money straight into our bank accounts - so they will earn interest on our money and if people forget to transfer eBay gets to keep our money for longer! Good old Ebay!!!
Solved! Go to Solution.

I know exctly what you mean Ronteal, you can't educate half the numpties on here,as you quite correctly point out,it is OUR money earned from selling OUR items,Not there;s,just another Ebay GREED TAX....

Yep, they can hold it and send it on a quarterly basis, equally you can withdraw it immediately the item sells and the money is there for you to withdraw. You don't need to leave any payouts there a second longer than you wish to.

I guess this also means no more managed payments when i thought they had a long term contract with their payments processor ,Ayden.

My point is its another change that makes life just a little bit more difficult for sellers and easier for eBay - as I said if people forget to withdraw ebay has that cash in their cofferrs and not where it should be - in our accounts!

It should autopay every quater as long as you have a bank account registered.

Every quarter - that's good of them!! As I said, they get to keep my money for 3 months. I rest my case!
02-10-2024 11:49 AM
Well, if they get to keep your money for 3 months, that is your fault! Did you sell on ebay when Paypal was the payment system? If so how did you manage then?

It's clear that you are missing my basic point - that every change eBay makes always favours eBay and makes life just that little bit more difficult for sellers. You are clearly in the "eBay can do no wrong" camp so it's pointless continuing this to & fro as you are missing my basic premise.

Yes it favours eBay in a small way but it seems that is one way they have chosen to recoup the income affected by the introduction of zero fees for Private sellers. It could have been worse... they could have imposed a payment threshold!

Ever since the eBay PayPal split and the MP introduction there have been many complaints, suggestions - call it what you will - that when everything was PayPal orientated it was beneficial to see that balance in your account, and use it to purchase on eBay, or transfer to your bank account. (I remember when it took 5 days to show up)
Obviously PayPal were putting those funds to work.
If you build up a balance in your eBay wallet you are free to transfer it when you want, you don't have to wait. Don't really see the problem.
It's actually aimed at increasing sales on the platform, which I don't see as a bad thing.

Again you are missing the point - eBay changes ALWAYS means increased bureaucracy and/or hassle for sellers in my view. Another one in the "eBay are always right camp," clearly.

And its Ebays site and their terms and conditions and no one is forcing you to use it.
We all have that choice.

Managed payments won't change at all, it's just the payout frequency that results from ebay sales that will change.

Im thinking of closing my site, they have no right to keep our money, it should be put in our bank immeadiatly ,
they are making a lot of money in their bank account.

I honestly cannot understand the people complaining here. Prior to this change, any seller can withdraw funds from their ebay account at any time they wish. After this change, any seller can withdraw funds from their eBay account at any time they wish. eBay are not stopping anyone from withdrawing their funds whenever they like. Banks also keep your money until or unless you withdraw it, but no one complains about that. The only change in this policy is the frequency that eBay is doing payouts, but that does not stop you from withdrawing your funds.

You are another one in the eBay can do no wrong camp - as I said, every change eBay brings forward makes life that little bit more difficult for the seller aka the man on the street and easier for eBay aka big business.

Your abusive words, calling me an "idiot" and a "yes man", is only a relfection of the person you are, and not a reflection of the person I am, because you don't know me.
The facts remain the same - you can withdraw your funds whenever you want. eBay have just given private sellers the best deal yet - using the site for free and no longer charging fees, but that clearly isn't enough for some people. And those who "forget" to withdraw their funds only have themselves to blame, not eBay. I don't blame anyone other than myself for errors that I make.
You are not thankful for now using the site for free, but you are whinging about the fact you might forget to withdraw your funds. Absolutely pathetic. You need to take a long look in the mirror. So much suffering in this world, and you are becoming abusive about this little minor issue.

I think another word for you in a different sphere would be an apparatchik - try not to bow down too low with your grateful thanks to the supreme leader or you might not get up. Thanks for the belly laugh btw. 😂
