Unable to access funds

Hi,

had an issue with my eBay account for a while. Had the error message when trying to withdraw funds that account on file was ineligible for selling costs - I didn’t have any overdue selling costs and it was the same account I’ve used for 15 years. Spoke to eBay support and they weren’t much help.

Tried everything like deleting that bank account and adding a new one for selling costs, that didn’t work. I tried re-adding the account, going on incognito mode, clearing my cookies/cache, trying on a Mac browser, etc etc.

I think there’s a bug in eBay’s system for me that won’t allow me to add an account for selling costs and that’s why I can’t access my funds. This is really frustrating as I need access to that money.

can someone take a look at my account and perhaps reset it in some way?

This is a member to member forum - we are other buyers and sellers like you and can't look at your account.

Deleting your bank account, trying to add a different one etc. is probably now the issue.

Try again to add your account.

Make sure your account name exactly matches your Ebay name.

Ebay may have to send micro deposits etc.  If this doesn't work, you will need to speak to support again.

From the Payments tab - opens in new window or tab in Seller Hub, or Payments - opens in new window or tab in My eBay, you can see which bank account is currently set up...

To update your bank account for payouts:

  1. Go to Payments in Seller Hub or My eBay.
  2. Select Delete under your existing payout bank account. (You need to delete this bank account before adding a new one as you can only have one bank account on file for payouts.)
  3. Select Add.
  4. Select Log in to my bank or Enter manually and then follow the instructions provided.

You can also update your payout account by selecting Add cards and accounts, then choosing Payouts. The new bank account you add will replace your existing payout bank account.

It usually takes 2 business days for changes to be confirmed and payouts to be enabled for your new bank account.

Unable to access funds

Hi yungbhoy, thanks for your post.

I've just checked for you, and it looks like your funds are not being held anymore, and you've managed to initiate a payout today, so going forward it is all good. If you need further assistance on this, I'd recommend contacting our customer service team as we wouldn't be able to provide much assistance over here due to the nature of your query and privacy and security reasons.

Thank you,

Marco
