My payouts are blocked for 13 days already, and every time I contact ebay they say will go escalate the problem and wait for a call in 24 hours, nobody calls. Have more than 15 years this account without problem and now thousands of pounds are blocked for this issue.

Outrageous... I think your account is flagged by " automation?" ... If it is being done by a physical human being it is far more outrageous as you have contacted them and trying to find information which none appears to be forthcoming. They are holding on to YOUR funds, your money, your income, and preventing you from continuing in business. They apparently told you that it would be " escalated", what does that mean exactly? Have they asked you to provide any information about your business or personal? 

 

I am at a loss other than I would be phoning a solicitor as it seems eBay as a corporate entity can roughshod over " customers" and there needs  a specific department which oversees things as important as this, not just customer service and bots!. Have you called and asked to speak to their legal department? They should have one.

Just put on Holiday mode as the sales don't stop and money frozen is getting bigger.

Yes holiday mode will only make buyers aware there could be a delay in processing their order, but I would not even want to sell anything being as your funds are being " used" by eBay and not available. Call them again until you get answers..  I don't want to worry you any more than you probably are but if you search " ebay holding funds" there are a plethora of sites whereby sellers are complaining about funds being held even some for 6 months... maybe if you have a read there maybe some information which may help you. Another point , this is a review for 2 days to complete, as informed to you by ebay...over 2 weeks ago and now they are moving the goalposts...something it seems eBay frequently do... also  it is not a dispute, they are entirely different. I would contact a solicitor even if you pay for a letter to send to them, that is why you need eBays legal department preferably a name or direct email.

I'd be interested to know the outcome. I'm in the exact same position. Just noticed today but payments stopped on 3rd July 2025. Same message about review for 2 days but its been a week and nothing. No email, no message, no request for any additional info from me. Just spoke to CS in dublin and they said they would reach out to the team and get back tomorrow or Monday

Was there any update on this? I'm in the exact same position and it's been over a week. I've spoken to several agents this week who said they would escalate the issue but I've heard nothing

Also I upgraded to a business account, and swapped my bank etc. it asked for ID again I gave it with no issue..

I am in the same boat. 20 years account holder thousands on hold and every time I call they say call back in x days. It’s a total joke. 

did anyone get a resolution on this in the end and how worried should I be. I have had zero communication on this whatsoever from them apart from me calling in (never got Dublin)

Called daily, no meaningful response of yet.  I have been promised a callback as did get through to someone in dublin.  Not holding my breath but very very stressed at the moment.  I have always been an advocate for ebay, but this has really soured the relationship.  If the message said wait 1 month at least I would have some confidence that things were going to plan, but it says 48 hours and its been over 2 weeks with no proactive contact from them whatsoever.  So disappointing 😪

There’s a larger than life character on YT - Big Al - business seller - he’s been blocked for various reasons, mainly INR. Not taking it lightly. I’m not saying he holds all the answers but worth a watch.

Yes and yes.  We are also VAT registered.  I have all the correct information on the account, no issues there.

 

I did get through as someone suggested to Dublin by calling first thing in the morning a couple of days ago.  The guy was really helpful and actually came through on his promise to escalate and come back to me.  Today I got the payment for all £2k that was on hold.  

 

  • Ebay really need to not say it will take 48 hours if it will take longer
  • They need to communicate proactively when a hold is on the account via message
  • They need to outline what the reason(s) are for the hold
  • They need to show a clear timeframe, and ideally progress of the hold
  • They need to reassure customers (their bread and butter), what the purpose is for and ideally give advance warning so businesses can manage their cash flow.
  • Once this 'audit' is complete, the account should have a flag on it to show its had 'advanced verification' or similar, to give both confidence to buyers and also to reassure businesses this can only happen once every 2 years for example.

 

22 years with ebay, I have always been loyal and an advocate.  The way this happened to me is unacceptable, but very relieved it is finally resolved.  

 

it looks from this thread like there have been a flurry of these recently.  For anyone in the same boat, in the UK... call first thing after 8am, speak with someone in Dublin and explain calmly the situation.  Its good with ebay you CAN speak to a human, and have found their Dublin contact centre to have excellent customer service and really put themselves in the customers shoes.
