Where`s my payment?

Hello all.

I sold an item 9 days ago and still see "total funds £146.00" and  "eBay balance" £0.00

I posted on the 31st of March and it was delivered before 1pm on the 1st of April. All positive feedback sent and received.

Why am I still waiting for my funds to be made available?

Re: Where`s my payment?

Hi burnley6656, thanks for your post.

If your eBay balance reads 0, it would mean that the funds are not available as of yet. Please note that for the amount in question, positive feedback wouldn't trigger the funds to be released. In this case, only tracking number confirming delivery, would release the funds after 48 hours.

I've just taken a quick look for you there, and the transaction I imagine you're referring to has no tracking details on it. If you have a tracking number that confirms delivery to the address of the buyer, please add it to the transaction in question, and that will help you get the funds released. Otherwise, the funds will automatically be released after 14 days.

Thank you,

Marco

Re: Where`s my payment?

There was absolutely no point in adding a tracking number if the item was
delivered within 12 hours if postage!
Feedback should be all that's needed. This looks suspiciously like a
synical new revenue stream for ebay.
That's me finished selling in ebay.

Re: Where`s my payment?

A tracking number can be helpful for a fully tracked postage, but most items are probably sent Royal Mail 2nd Class Small Parcel - or similar. Whilst a postal reference / track number is provided when the label is paid for, the PO are not reliable in confirming delivery - they say an "update will only be provided when we attempt to deliver your item". So, no update from the PO means, to eBay, not yet delivered despite the buyer advising the seller that an item has been delivered successfully !

Re: Where`s my payment?

Royal Mail tracking isn't always updated. I sold two items on the same day, one of which has feedback proving the item arrived. However, when checking the tracking neither are shown as delivered. That means eBay holding onto my money for at least 14 days because they do not take feedback as proof of delivery.

This is like a scam and I question whether any company is legally allowed to hold people's money when a third party (Royal Mail) has delivered items.

Re: Where`s my payment?

You are correct,   Royal Mail tracking is sometimes not in sync with eBay's tracking, and the latter is the most important for releasing a faster payout,  that is,  2 days after the delivery date.

If you have found your tracking has not updated,  therefore holding back your payout,  contact eBay Customer Services, provide the tracking showing delivery, ask if they can kindly release your payout now as 48 hours have passed the delivery date.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Re: Where`s my payment?

eBay Customer Services is generally useless and only spout terms, conditions and its policies.

They will not release payments because flawed RM tracking does not show delivery, yet one buyer has left positive feedback. They told me I need to take up the case with RM and "Thank you for using eBay."

Not sure I'll be selling here for much longer. Have decided not to bother listing a load of items, what with the BPF and holding onto my money after sales.

Re: Where`s my payment?

Feedback will only release a payout for an item under the value of £25.

As my post above explains RM and eBay tracking are usually not in sync,  with eBay slow to update those details,  it also depends greatly when you contact eBay CS as to the agent you receive,  as to how they will solve any matter for you.

Contact CS again but only very first thing in the morning when the lines first open on a weekday at 8 a.m. as there's more chance of Dublin answering,  only speak to them.  Inform them RM tracking has shown delivery please can they release your payment.  Worth a shot to speak to Dublin.

Here's the link to CS .
