I think it may depend on who is responsible for updating the tracking on your order. Even if you buy postage from ebay it is up to the postal delivery system to update the tracking and if they don't there is not much ebay can do about it. However they should be able to see from feedback that the item has been received but I did read on another post that they will not accept or look at this. At least you will get your payment, though will have to wait longer.
I have had a problem with paying for an item won in auction and honestly have wasted so much time trying to access help with it I wish I had never bid on it. I made a post below and was offered help with it, but have heard nothing back. Wasted ages being sent to pages which I knew would not give me the answers I wanted and I did not want to read, 2 online chats useless, basically implying the fault was my end which I am absolutely certain it was not, it's ebay's tec. fault. 2 international phone calls the 1st saying they would look into it and get back to me- didn't, the 2nd one did seem to come up with a possible answer, but I was still unable to pay for the item using saver code which should have been valid.
I've definitely come to the conclusion that things are OK so long as you don't hit a problem but if you do you have next to no chance of getting it resolved, however much time you waste on it. It's made me vary wary, don't think I will bid on an auction again, been a member for 18 years.
