Used simple delivery which covers everything but payment on hold!

Decided to use simple delivery to post the item as I heard soon we will only be able to post this way anyway so best get used to it. Buyer chose evri. Sent item but it has been stuck as due to be delivered since Saturday. Obviously something is wrong. Customer has opened a case. Ebay says simple delivery covers everything if the item is lost and they give the customer the refund and I still get paid (from what I understand they handle the claim with evri). What I don't understand is why my funds are now on hold due to an open case??? How can they say they handle everything but put a hold on my funds?!?! I was meant to be getting the payout on the 23rd 😭 eBay stresses me out.

If Evri hasn't confirmed it as lost then Ebay has probably put the case on hold temporarily as the item is still technically in transit and delivery is only a few days overdue. 

Your payment should be released once it is either delivered or confirmed as lost.
