Something New?

So I have been sitting here for the last week waiting for my payment to be transfered into my bank account , only to realize that you have to do it manually now???? *bleep*... why??? I needed the cash in my account a few days ago, and because of this, two bills bills didnt get paid and i now have a late payment fee on one of them for £12..... to say I am *bleep* off is an understatement. If anyone from ebay is reading this, you owe me £12. I may even stop using ebay now, I that hacked off by this.

Re: Something New?

Hi

Yes one now has to withdraw your funds back to your Bank (unless one is a business seller)

I do believe this changed on the 16th October.

I am not sure how you missed this change because it was plastered all over my account (and still is) a while before the change came into effect.

Re: Something New?

You won't be the only one who has been caught out by the change from Managed Payments to eBay balance but any complaint to eBay will be dismissed on the ground that an announcement was made. It was, sort of...

The introduction of eBay balance was mentioned in an announcement headed 'Changes to selling fees for private sellers & new benefits for business sellers' on 01st October - go to the top of this page, click on 'eBay News', then 'Announcements' and it's currently about 4"PgDn"s from there. You then need to go to the Help&Contact pages on eBay and type 'eBay balance' - that page has more information regarding how the balance is held and what needs to be done to transfer it.

Yes, I know - you're probably fuming because eBay didn't specifically tell you. You're not alone - they didn't tell anybody, they just buried the news in the middle of an announcement issued with a title which didn't even reference it - but there is nothing you can do about it. eBay's site, eBay's rules and all that; if you don't like the rules you don't have to use the site.

Sorry, but no-one from eBay is reading your post. And even if someone did read it the defence would be that the change was announced and it was up to you as a user to take the necessary action.

Personally, I'd be more concerned by the fact that the open-ended Direct Debit to which every seller had to agree when Managed Payments was introduced is still in force even though Managed Payments is no longer used...
