PAYMENTS - THIS RIDUCULOUS NEW SYSTEM

i HAVE  USED  EBAY  FOR  AROUND  30  YEARS around  20 years  with my current  details  and  previously in the  early  days  around  10  years  with  different sign in name  which incorporated a house  name  from  which we  moved!

Anyway as  from  now  I have  ceased  to  use  Ebay  as  I do not  agree  with  the  NEW!! payment  system

Nothing  leaves  my premises  until  it  is  paid  for,  thats  a similar  system  that  the  retail trade  uses  isnt  it??

One  does not  enter  a shop and  select what they wish to  purchase,  tell the  shopkeaper  I will send  you  the  payment in  a  few days  time  and  leave  with  the  goods.

I have  spoken to other eBay users  I know all of  whom  are totally against  this  system and  will not  be  selling!

EBAY  you need  to  wake  up  quickly  and  sort  out  this  matter!

According to my accountant there is nothing illegal about using a private Ebay account to sell goods for profit on Ebay, as long as you are declaring all sales and other income to HMRC as I do.

So for anybody to suggest that a private seller is using such an account to avoid paying tax is infact potentially slander.

No it isn't. Slander is spoken

I assume you mean libel.

If you are going to quote law, get a lawyer

And while you are at it, you need a new accountant.

Absolutely could not agree more.  People are leaving in droves.  It’s always been an unfair system where the seller is concerned but now it’s worse.  If something is not broken don’t try and fix it.  This new system is so unfair that it’s ridiculous.  I have my leaving shoes on too.

I agree , i've been a member for around 20 years , buying and selling . Ebay  keep playing around with  payment Ts & Cs  .why should i send and an  item without the funds in my account or bank .. shops or any other online retailers wont/never send their items  until they have payment. many dogey buyers out there who on a whim can complain about something and try and get eiterh a full refind or discount.. just not on.. so im going to sell on other platforms  unless they change back ..    I dont mind this rule for new sellers who have'nt established their trust but for those who have been selling for  years its just not on..

Are you sure about that?  It takes around 2 days for a debit/credit card payment to finish processing and the merchant to actually receive the funds (admittedly no where near as long as eBay's payment holds).

Re: PAYMENTS - THIS RIDUCULOUS NEW SYSTEM

EBay gets the funds

the goods do not belong to eBay

they are holding other, people’s  money for up to 2 weeks under some new found reason which they never had the need to do before

honestly

Yes I agree it’s ridiculous just had two examples 1 as a buyer and another as a seller because the postman didn’t confirm delivery both ways the seller and the buyer have to wait for payment rang eBay the other day complained about it and the difficulty contacting ebay in the first place

Re: PAYMENTS - THIS RIDUCULOUS NEW SYSTEM

I trust your leaving shoes weren't bought on eBay though 😂😂😂

Seriously though I'm thinking of joining you as I've had enough of all of eBay's shenanigans.

You might have to wait awhile for me to put my shoes on as I'm an old fart. (Should have bought the velcro option 😂😂😂)
