PAYMENTS - THIS RIDUCULOUS NEW SYSTEM

i HAVE  USED  EBAY  FOR  AROUND  30  YEARS around  20 years  with my current  details  and  previously in the  early  days  around  10  years  with  different sign in name  which incorporated a house  name  from  which we  moved!

Anyway as  from  now  I have  ceased  to  use  Ebay  as  I do not  agree  with  the  NEW!! payment  system

Nothing  leaves  my premises  until  it  is  paid  for,  thats  a similar  system  that  the  retail trade  uses  isnt  it??

One  does not  enter  a shop and  select what they wish to  purchase,  tell the  shopkeaper  I will send  you  the  payment in  a  few days  time  and  leave  with  the  goods.

I have  spoken to other eBay users  I know all of  whom  are totally against  this  system and  will not  be  selling!

EBAY  you need  to  wake  up  quickly  and  sort  out  this  matter!

The problem is Ebay is mimicking Vinted...so they get to hold your money for longer. I've been waiting a week now for my funds which are sent tracked and still nothing. Looks like it's happening all over. Goodness knows whats going on! 😕

PAYMENTS - THIS RIDUCULOUS NEW SYSTEM

Hi

So far The system has worked correctly for myself, it is essential
to use a tracked delivery (EG Royal Mail 24 or 48 hour tracked service)
as soon as the item has been delivered by RMail I get a message stating
that funds will be available in the account in 2 days
If items are posted using a non tracked service the payment takes much
longer apparently.
(I use RM 24 hour tracked service which is not much more than the 48 hr
service so the funds become available a day earlier)
I am not saying I like the system but at least there are no
selling fees for private sellers! (YET)

I’ve only sold 3 items since the changes which is a huge drop in sales, but I posted each one as 2nd class parcels as usual (not 24/48 hour tracked) and added the tracking details. They have shown as delivered   2 days later so I got paid 2 days after that.

The problem is you have sold 12k of items mostly clothing, many new items on a private account avoiding Ebay fees and consumer law

Upgrade to a business account and the new rules will not apply.

"Upgrade to a business account and the new rules will not apply."

This is pure BLACKMAIL as it's finest.

The same shoddy SLOW PAYMENT rules should be in place for EVERYONE.

eBay shouldn't be discriminating between poor private sellers and big fat rich business sellers.

I would really like to see this delayed payment rule enforced by eBay on CROOKED CHINESE SELLERS WHO LIE ABOUT THEIR ITEM'S LOCATION BY SAYING "UK SELLER" OR "FAST DELIVERY" ONLY TO CHEAT AND SEND THE ITEM DIRECTLY FROM CHINA WITH A 2 WEEK DELAY !

Of course that won't happen will it ?... eBay favours dishonest Chinese sellers and looks after them...

I disagree with the system also. How much interest are they earning with the money held on account!!!! Must be thousands of £££££.

I would consider this system if they are prepare to pay back interest earned to sellers. Fat chance of that!

PAYMENTS - THIS RIDUCULOUS NEW SYSTEM

Here is an interesting situation. I recently sold two separate items to the same buyer at the same time on separately paid for sales. I sent both items in the same parcel and put the one tracking number on both sales which the system accepted. Only one item was confirmed as delivered by the tracking, so I have not been paid for the other one. That one is stuck on awaiting delivery and will not confirm.

The buyer has confirmed both items were received on time. How do I get paid for the other order ?

This whole thing is an unfair and ill thought out shambles.

You won the item in an Auction. so the payment is automatic at the time the Auction ends and will come from whatever funding source is set up as your preferred payment method which you set up in your eBay settings, the same thing happened to me when I had a bid in for an item in Auction that ended while I was not watching the end

I don,t know what you are talking about. My post relates to items sold and
not an auction that I have won.

Maybe but I dont really sell that much thesesdays and in any
case selling is FREE, Used to sell more years ago I have been
on eBay for over 30 years, 20 yrs with my current user name and
previously over 10 years with my first user name which was
basically my house name, so when we moved I changed IT

Incidentally I have sold around 6 items under the new scheme
using 24 hr tracked delivery also packing and sending in under 24
hrs usually I use Royal Mail home collection service which is a FREE
service and collections can be made online very rapidly, so if I
sell an item in the evening it can be collected next morning and
delivered the following day to the buyer.

Totally agree!

I’ve just come of yet another “chat” and logged several complaints now.

I’m not listing anymore items until the system changes back.

any ideas on another platform to sell from?

i've noticed that if a parcel gets delivered on a Saturday, we don't get the payout until the following Wednesday morning!!!

I also can't keep track which orders have been paid and which ones haven't it's taken forever to go back through and work out which payments have been completed and which are outstanding.. this new system does not work!!

Ebay's new policies are certainly making things more difficult. The only
people these policies benefit is Ebay!

Click on the arrow on the total funds bar in the payments page, and you
will see a breakdown of payments by individual sale. If you can get your
head round the four different types of payment status then it might help,
but it is very confusing. Why for example do several of my sales never
reach "complete" even though they seem to have been paid out ?
Returning to my original post, it seems that if you combine postage of two
sales paid for separately, using the same tracking number for both, then
the system can only confirm one item as delivered. The second item gets
ignored and is treated as untracked. The result is that you have to wait 14
days to get paid for this one.
Of course that is great for Ebay as they get to hold onto your money for
way longer.
The business sellers are loving all this, but be careful what you wish for,
because if Ebay succeed with this and all the other punitive measures
against private accounts, then you will be next.

If combining orders enter the SAME TRACKING NUMBER on each item
it works fine, if using RM tracked 24 or 48 then I suggest
that to reduce the wait time by a day use 24 hr it does not
cost much more

Judging by the amount of members ' negative comments on this absolutely ridiculous state of affairs, maybe it's time for "people power " if enough people take action by stopping selling , eBay might just stop and listen ?

I'm speaking from experience. Postman didn't scan item when delivered. So my customer has his lovely jacket, left feedback to tell me so, funds pending "awaiting delivery " .eBay wouldn't release the funds .....I rest my case

Yes that lack of RM scanning on delivery indicates there is a
flaw in ebay's system they did not consider that!! so you will
have to wait for the appointed number of days to get paid,
however I feel you should contact ebay by telephone and vent your
anger!
