I dont know if any private seller have noticed this. {Bottom in box}
But if i have read this right. You sell something, and when the buyer confirms they have recived the item, which would by feedback i presume, You then get paid two days after they confirm delivery.
eBay does not seem to have taken into account that a lot of sellers never leave feedback, even when reminded. So thats bad news for sellers, i guess you dont get paid.
On the plus side for eBay. They have got the buyers money. So if they dont have to pay you because the buyer wont leave feedback. Profits going up.
I also note this only applies to private sellers in the UK.
Now, to give your buyers even more confidence when shopping, UK-based private sellers will be paid after item delivery, from 4 Feb. Your funds will be available in your eBay balance two days after delivery confirmation.*** We know it's important to get your money fast, so we recommend using a tracked delivery service either through Simple Delivery, or arranging for local collection. |

Feedback plays no part in the new Buyer Protection coming in next month. It will not matter if it's left or not.
It's only tracking that eBay will require to release your money sooner, that is, 2 days after tracking, not feedback, shows delivery.
If there is no tracking showing that delivery, payouts will be held for 14 days.

No idea if it does, but once a rule is rolled out it's usually for eBay platforms worldwide.

Where have you been for the last week!
There are many threads with hundreds of posts on about this very subject. I think you can safely say that many private account holders are aware of it.
Ebay UK announcements always only impact/mention UK sellers. Other sites will have their own communications as necessary.

Completely agree , really extremely unhappy about this , why should ebay be able to hold onto what will be a vast amount of sellers money which it can probably earn interest on? I never send things tracked unless they are worth a significant amount & think only one item has genuinely gone astray with the post office & that wasn't their fault. If I have to send things tracked I will be passing the cost onto the buyer so how does that help them? E bay seems to creating it's own monopoly where they get to use sellers money for the bank of ebay and are now stitching up the postage side of things as well so really there is going to be no choice but to send things via ebay if you want to get your money in a decent timescale. I will definitely be looking seriously at alternative selling platforms.

I feel the same. I have sold over 1500 items at £5, (and for Ebay's info. only received feedback on about 100) so due to the low price of the item, it is not worth paying for a tracked delivery. I shall definitely be looking at alternatives, as it will be really difficult to keep track of payments which will arrive two weeks after the item was sent.
Ebay only recently changed their payment method to the sales proceeds remaining in the Ebay account until the seller withdrew them. Clearly not satisfied with that option, they are now changing the rules again to try and make sellers pay for tracked delivery. I have lost around 5% of items I sell due to either Royal Mail or unscrupulous buyers claiming their item did not arrive, but this does not make me want to pay double the postage to guarantee delivery!

You will have to rethink your photo restoration service as you cannot prove delivery using messages.

What is that thought based on?
My Buying account has received zero communication from ebay on this subject.
When a buyer sees his auction bid / purchase invoice with an unknown 'top up' from ebay, it will be sellers who will be the first port of call for them - is there to be an official answer to them?
Or should we just refer the buyer to CS, ignore the buyer (as ebay usually do to Sellers) or make something up?

The new rules are ridiculous, especially for people like me who don’t sell expensive items and who don’t live near to a post office. I use the local post box. If I want to send anything via a tracked service then it will almost double the postage costs, which my customers won’t want to pay. Rarely does anything go missing. To have to wait two weeks for payment is simply not on! I’ve never heard anything so daft. It’s crazy and so badly thought out. I’ll be looking to sell elsewhere!

double the postage costs
Wanna guess who benefits from higher postage costs ?
They have 4 letters starting with an 'E' and ending in 'Y'.

2nd class is scanned on delivery, as long as you attach the tracking number to the order it will update by itself once delivered.
I use their click and drop service to order the labels and book the collection, postman comes in the morning and collects the parcels, which gives me an email confirming the collection and works as proof of postage.
This obviously works if you order online and have a valid tracking number, if you use stamps you are out of luck.

Does anyone know if we’ll be able to use the Royal Mail second class service where they bring your label and pick up from your home?
Not driving or having a printer or having any local drop off boxes or places hasn’t been a problem with the RM collection/label service.

Last I checked online postage is cheaper than post office, for example, 2nd class large letter up to 250g is 2.10 at the post office and 1.90 online. Same price for under 100g. Plus online you have the tracked24 and 48 services which are not available at the post office.
If you do it through the Royal Mail click and drop service you can even ask for the labels to be delivered with the collection.
This said, if you don't want to print out labels, please, ignore my suggestion. I am not forcing you to use it, merely mentioned that is an option.
