New Rules for uk sellers 4th Feb

I dont know if any private seller have noticed this. {Bottom in box}

But if i have read this right. You sell something, and when the buyer confirms they have recived the item, which would by feedback i presume, You then get paid two days after they confirm delivery.

eBay does not seem to have taken into account that a lot of sellers never leave feedback, even when reminded. So thats bad news for sellers, i guess you dont get paid.

On the plus side for eBay. They have got the buyers money. So if they dont have to pay you because the buyer wont leave feedback. Profits going up.

I also note this only applies to private sellers in the UK.

Now, to give your buyers even more confidence when shopping, UK-based private sellers will be paid after item delivery, from 4 Feb. Your funds will be available in your eBay balance two days after delivery confirmation.*** We know it's important to get your money fast, so we recommend using a tracked delivery service either through Simple Delivery, or arranging for local collection.

Re: New Rules for uk sellers 4th Feb

The most I’ve ever sent at one time is 3…I only sell a few things per week if I’m lucky! Usually someone is  home all day so postie will knock to check. On the rare occasion we’re not in, I attach a post-it note with name & address. Been using this service since it became available in my location…a long time now….never had a single problem.
Don’t know if there’s a number limit or how it would work with large numbers.

Prices @ £3.25 for a small parcel with the collect service included…a godsend for small sellers who don’t have a working printer and don’t drive/no car.

Re: New Rules for uk sellers 4th Feb

Once the parcel is scanned, you get an immediate confirmation email to confirm it’s in the system.  I use the direct booking via the RM website, not through eBay so unsure if their system works exactly the same.
A friend used the eBay labels last year as a trial and both parcels went AWOL. It must have been a coincidence but it certainly put me off trying as In 15 years I’ve never had that happen! I like to stick with tried and trusted methods as I don’t want to introduce any anxiety in to my life!!

Re: New Rules for uk sellers 4th Feb

I've withdrawn 90% of my sales listings now, not worth the bother with eBay.

Re: New Rules for uk sellers 4th Feb

I recently sold an Apple Watch using this new policy, I sent it RMSD, the buyer has received it and left me positive feedback, but because Royal Mail forgot to scan the parcel when the buyer collected it from the post office, I now have to wait 14 days for the payment to be released.  (Vinted allow the buyer to accept the order which releases the funds, nothing like that exists on eBay).

I spoke to eBay on the phone and they point blank refused to release the funds, even though the buyer had sent me a picture of the parcel collected and they can view the conversation we have had about setting the watch up.

I don’t think I’ll be selling anything on eBay again, it’s a lot of hassle as it took me three goes at selling it thanks to time wasters and this new policy is ridiculous, plus the buyer now has to pay fees on top which have effectively devalued anything I want to sell.

Very wise. Why would we line their pockets?

Re: New Rules for uk sellers 4th Feb

System is terrible. Keep getting customers recieving my tracked items and leaving positive feedback but because Royal Fail are so terrible they don't bother to mark the item as delivered which leads to me not getting paid. eBay are a joke.
