Prior to the 1st November, as a business seller of good standing and as our Pro Trader account manager said on the 27th - our account was "squeaky clean", we got paid "normally", ie funds were released to our bank daily, after a sale.
So if a buyer bought on a Wednesday, the funds would be released overnight next day into our bank as has been the way on our account for years. Even private sellers in good standing get the funds released next day.
on the 1st November payments ceased into our bank. We called up and were told there was no issue with the account, and that the funds should be released. On the 2nd November funds were still not released. After several calls to ebay customer support over a 2 day period I eventually got through to a member of the Payments Team and then a Trust & Safety Leadership team in Dublin and was told that 3 day payment holds after tracking shows delivery would be becoming the norm for all business sellers going forward and that any issue for whatever reason on any account, would result in this being set in place even with general reviews which happen periodically. I was told that this was the new "normal" and that it would be coming to everyone sooner rather than later. I was also told that the issues for us was with Royal Mail and tracking that has happened over the last few months, that ebay admitted there was an issue with, was the "reason" for this payment delay being implemented on our account.
