I have been using eBay since 2002 and have always been happy buying and selling on the platform but this new delay on receiving payments has really nailed eBay's coffin and will cause sellers to leave eBay and use other platforms as this current payment procedure is not working, in fact it has failed big time as sellers like myself and others do not want to wait almost two weeks to receive our money from our sales.
I would like to request that there be a change to the way we receive our money (again) by making a instant credit to our accounts as soon as the buyer has made a purchase whichever method they choose to use as this would be the fairest way of keeping the sellers happy and enabling the seller like myself to ship the item/s out even on the same day as the payment has been made to us.
I will not ship any item out until money is in my hand but doing this will cause problems in the current situation as if we do not have the payment money for the postage upfront, we cannot ship the item/s.
I use eBay as a backup source of funding and not my main source of income but there are some days in my working month where I do not have the money to even buy postage and this causes delays to not only ship the item, making the buyer wait and the release date of funds further away than originally planned. Again, this is not good enough all round and needs to change.
I have not had anyone report of not receiving their items as I've always used a trackable method that get's the item to where it has to go and I have monitored it every step of it's journey and seen it arrive as in marked as delivered. If we use a trackable method of shipping, surely that is our insurance against loss of items in the post as this is down to eBay if we have bought postage from eBay's own 'Packlink' procedure. Using a trackable method ought to be a standard thing and also common sense as nobody wants to lose their items in the mail.
If these changes are not implemented soon enough, eBay sellers will just leave and go somewhere else and the platform's future is looking rather bleak should that happen. I for one do not want to leave eBay as I enjoy selling on the platform but this current nightmare of a payment system will cause me and others to leave.
Do the right thing eBay and create an instant payment process. Buyer makes payment, seller receives payment instantly, buyer ships item, leaves feedback, seller received item and leaves feedback too. JOB DONE.
