I’ve listed an item for collection eBay and a buyer is interested and wants to view before they buy to make sure it’s working - even though the pictures show it’s working and saying they live in the same area as me. They are also asking for the address. I don’t know if it’s true or not but I have read that you are not supposed to give buyers personal details through eBay messages (i am unsure if this is correct). Should I give the address to them? Should they pay first before collection/coming? As I know eBay you codes to confirm collection. And should I be wary of them? And what if they try paying with cash I did tell them that they need to pay through eBay

simply put they need to pay and checkout via eBay.
at that point you can provide collection details.
if they don’t want it when they arrive to collect then you can cancel the order. If they are happy they must supply the eBay collection code otherwise any payment of funds yto you will be delayed

Is it normal that they want to set it up and see it working even though pictures show it working?

What do I say to that part? Cause I’m not comfortable with that.

For a 6 year old TV? Yes, I think its fairly standard to want to see it switched on and doing something.
At the end of the day, you can say no, but if you do, the buyer is likely to turn around and say I don't want it.

If they need to pay before I give them details how are they supposed to view it before paying?

They can't.
Again, they HAVE to pay on ebay. You provide collection details. When they arrive you can chose to show them the TV working or not.
The buyer then chooses to take the item or not.
If they don't - you refund them.
If they want to take the item - then they should provide the collection code that ebay have given them. If you don't get that collection code, the funds from the order will see a delay in being released to you.
