hi, I had a parcel delivered damaged and have re funded the buyer. when I tried do make a claim, the tracking number is not recognised in the carrier id box, is there a different ID number to the tracking number. I tried contacting Ebay on the chat but went round in circles.

If you sent using Ebay Simple Delivery, and the buyer had opened a return stating 'damaged in transit', then Ebay would have dealt with the case and refunded the buyer without you needing to get involved.
If t was Simple Delivery and you chose to refund the buyer, you won't be able to claim against the carrier as the buyer bought the postage from Ebay.

thnaks, yes it was a simply order so ebay auto issued the refund to the buyer. will ebay credit the postage as the postage is a deduction on the order and what happens about the order value. In the pre simply day I would raise a claim and get a full refund, thanks again

If ebay refund buyer under SD
Then you keep the money you received from sale.
