I'm having problems. They didn't have an item in stock but, in error, confirmed despatch on 27th September. I agreed to wait for a restock but nothing turned up. I sent a number of emails over the last 2 weeks for an update but got no replies. I asked ebay to step in but the order was apparently now too old for ebays money back guarantee. However, ebay contacted the supplier and the 'check status' screen now reads:
Your refund for this item was processed on {INR_DATE_REFUND_WAS_INITIATED}. You should receive your money soon. To check its status, select...
Does the confusing info in brackets mean that a refund has been arranged because I still haven't received any e-mail from the seller and the order details screen just shows an outstanding request.
I can't get passed ebay's automated reply to check directly even though the email from ebay says:
"Let us know if your issue has been resolved".
I'm totally confused and if this is how ebay handle problem orders from con-man suppliers I think I'll do all my buying on Discogs in future because they have a more straightforward way of dealing with rogue suppliers.

Hi
I've found a solution: I have reported them to Visa and they are dealing with the supplier directly.
I doubt that I'll use ebay in the future unless it's an item that can't source elsewhere: they are no help in a dispute. They could have advised me to contact Visa but just showed no interest other than protecting a rogue supplier. Really disappointed in ebay they could at least make it possible for me to advise them that the dispute isn't sorted. They ask the question but don't give the opportunity to reply. I've spent a large sum of money on ebay over the years so I would have expected a little more help from them. As I mentioned previously: Discogs are more efficient with this type of thing and would not have allowed the seller to advertise any items until the dispute was sorted.
Anyway, thanks for your e-mail.
Regards
Joe

Your mistake was to not open a not received case, and you would have received a refund ages ago. Never rely on promises, that just allows you the buyer to get out of time. You only have 30 days.
You cannot ask ebay to step in, unless you have opened a case within 30 days of expected delivery date, and no response from seller.
How did you pay, as that determines how long a refund takes, debit card 7 days, credit card up to 30 days.
Where ever you buy, it is always essential that you follow correct procedures when it comes to getting refunds.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. My biggest mistake was to buy on ebay rather than Discogs. Discogs have a far more efficient way of dealing with rogue sellers. Ebay have even protected this seller from receiving negative feedback. Instead of having the option to leave feedback it only allows a product review. I can't even name the company on this community site. Perhaps ebay think that they get more revenue from sellers rather than buyers: they need to remember that without buyers there would be no need for sellers.
Ebay ask if the problem was sorted but don't give any way to contact them other than an automated reply that doesn't give the option to say no.
That's it for me with ebay: they don't care about customers as far as I'm concerned. As for the seller I will visit their shop in the not too distant future and sort it out face to face because ebay are useless.
