redress from courier for a damage in transit item

I recently sold an item which my purchaser said he had not received. It turns out the courier had damaged the item in transit which they let me know about. Can I claim for this and how would I go azbout it. I have had to refund my purchaser

Most couriers have a website where you can start the claims process.

The only issue would be if you had sent the item using Ebay's Simple Delivery.

Which item was it?

If it was the clock, I don't know if that was sent Simple Delivery.

If it was not, you will have to claim against the carrier.

Who did you post it with?
