eBays estimated delivery dates

Why are they so ridiculous?

I sold a pair of shoes at 10pm Wednesday 5th March, I have 2 working days dispatch which means I didn't even have to send them until Friday the 7th but eBay gives the buyer an estimated delivery date of 7th - 11 th March. I stated I was using Yodel which is usually a 3 day service. I did actually post them the next day but today I've had a message from the buyer saying they're leaving me negative feedback because they didn't arrive on the 7th. I know or at least I should be able to get it removed but it's just unnecessary hassle. Some buyers see the first date and expect the item by then. It's just ridiculous imo. It's the same with some of my listings that advertise free 3 day delivery and there's no chance they'll get there in that timescale.

Re: eBays estimated delivery dates

There are several threads about this subject with some very active conversations. It seems to be that there are on occasion some very unrealistic dates thrown at sellers. We had a similar instance this week, that an item was going to be delivered in the USA within 48 hours of dispatch. Highly unrealistic and highly unlikely.
