Today I received an email claiming that I have purchased an Apple MacBook Pro 14" £1,584.59 to be posted to Norwich in my name.
I would like to send this information to eBay security, but it seems like this no longer exists and all the statements seem to be deflected away from giving genuine help from eBay.
There was a time when I was able to call and get help, but now, with the dependency of AI, eBay believes that this is a solution for security issues.
I not long looked for a new number to eBay in Google, another webssite I don't trust regardless of my use and in the list came a phone number for the UK.
When I called it, they claimed that they could not find anyone for me to speak to, but this came after asking me my date of birth.
There was a Tel number which when I searched further down the list, the number is under a website called "Get Human".
I would like to know why is eBay allowing scammers the upper hand if the online security is not as secure as companies like eBay would make communities believe.
Can someone please tell me what's is going on or have a genuine phone number that I can call for help, here in the UK.

'Help & contact' top left of your Ebay page is really useful for issues like this.
If you put in 'spoof email' you get these instructions on how to forward your email to Ebay.
This would save your time and a Customer Services person's time in an unnecessary phone call.

Thank you for your swift intervention, though I would still be happy to be able to contact eBay intricate issues that their AI cannot handle.
It's very frustrating when I was able to contact eBay before and the security offered with that connection at the time has now been lost.
This is the very reason why big businesses are being hacked more frequently now, something that will possibly take another 10-20 years to solve, because of these websites dragging their feet to fix these issues.
Am just waiting for a reply after being able to forward the post I got, but let me Thank you again

Your emal does not mean that eBay has been hacked.
Its possible that you were tricked by an earlier "phishing email" into giving away that you are an eBay user.
But it's more likely that the sender sent these emails by the thousand to random addresses. With something like 20 million eBay users in the UK they can be sure that many recipients will be registered users.
You can't reaistically expect "eBay security" to discuss your particular email. Similar messages are sent in bulk all the time and the way to report them is by spoof@ebay.co.uk. This will at least keep eBay informed of current phishing trends, and can hopefuly help to update scanning databases for known fraudulent emails.
