Wrong item sent

I have sent the wrong item to a buyer. What's the best way forward? Any suggestions welcome.

Ask them to open a return on ebay and they will receive a paid-for postage label to send it back to you.   That will cancel and refund the transaction so you should relist the correct item for them to buy again.

Thank you, I appreciate your help. So that would be an ´item not as described’ request and will get it returned to me. Does it generate a full refund too or do I need to instigate that separately?

Yes, using "not as described" will mean they get a paid-for return label.    Wait to get the item back first and then issue a full refund via the return case.
