Hi everyone,
I have a basicshop on eBay, and I’ve noticed that my buyers are being charged a Buyer Protection fee at checkout. From what I understand, this fee should only apply to purchases from private sellers, not business sellers with a shop subscription.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there something I need to adjust in my listings or account settings to prevent this charge?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

All your listings are under a Private seller account so you will pay for buyer protection.
Having a shop does not make you a business seller, you need to upgrade toa business seller account.

The fee is being charged because you are registered as a private seller.
Private seller cannot hold stocks of, and sell, brand new items - especially foodstuffs.

Yes.
To correctly register as a business seller simply go to your Personal Information in your account and to the right of Account Type, which will be showing as 'Individual' you'll see an Edit option.

This doesn't affect your feedback profile or any current listings, it merely upgrades your account so that you're compliant with current consumer and eBay policy.
