I've been with ebay for a long time. With my current handle and a couple of previous ones. And over the years I've seen a gradual slide in the quality and availability of customer support as well as the overall traffic from a sellers pov. Sure, things have changed and there's more competition out there.
But you don't make things better by diluting the service and making things worse but at the moment it seems that's what the current owners appear to be doing.
Just a few years ago I used to be able to phone an agent if I had an issue. That doesn't seem to be possible any more. And that's a huge mistake on ebay's part. I also used to be able to make an offer for an item and not have to sign up for automated payments. No more. I used to be able to message a seller about an item and talk about price without ebay being so paranoid and thinking I was trying to do a deal outside of the platform. No more. ebay are shooting themselves in the foot on a daily basis so no wonder they are a shadow of their former selves.
Such a shame. And if things don't change, I, like many others, will simply go elsewhere.
