Hey, bought a mobile from a company in November with a years warranty. Now it has an error that means the phone needs replaced. Been trying to no avail contact the company. Email(bounces back) phone(straight to answer machine), eBay can’t do anything get told to contact seller (messaged them numerous times, no response) messaged PayPal told me to message eBay…… contacted trading standards told me to contact seller, eBay and PayPal. Nothing. Now seller has blocked Northern Ireland from their page so I can’t see anything on their page anymore. Now I’m sitting with a £300 paper weight. What to do

Try money claim online (previously small claims court):

Appreciate that. But tbh it’ll probably cost me more claiming than what the phone is worth. I just wondering is there nothing else. It’s kinda rough that eBay can’t do anything even though the company is selling through their site and isn’t upholding their promise

Both Ebay and Paypal give you 30 days to return a faulty item.
They don't get involved in warranties which are between you and the seller, and obviously difficult to enforce when you buy online.

Money claim online only costs £35 to claim up to £300. eBay won't do anything. They only allow 30 days for claims and don't get involved with warranties. And you're probably too late for your payment provider.

Was checking the fees. Yeah 35 but it also says could be additional fees added on in the future
“You may have to pay more fees later on - for example, if there’s a court hearing or you need to get a judgment enforced.”
which scares me a bit.
might just have to bite the bullet and call it a miss and move on.
yeah I get the 30 days. Sux they can’t follow up on warranties.
thanks for the info and help

It isn't kinda rough. It's what you accepted in the user agreement, but obviously without readng it. eBay makes it clear that it's own money back guarantee only lasts for 30 days - after that, they have no interest.
Any responsibility now rests with the seller, but eBay even warns buyers that "they do not guarantee the existence, quality, safety or legality of items advertised, or the truth or accuracy of descriptions".
Who would buy from a shop that stated this? Buying from unknown sellers here is not like buying from the shops. eBay is a jungle. eBay even warns buyers of the risks, if only they would read it.
