Hi
I was looking at a car on ebay and the listing ended, the seller left me his contact details so we have been in touch and agreed a price. The issue is the seller is ofshore working as a drilling contractor (which in this case seems genuine) so he has suggested he relist his vehicle on ebay and i could buy it through ebays vehicle payment protection system, are there any potential scams with this or is this safe as hes telling me? The value is a far amount so would he be able to access the money and potentially not send the car? Or any other issues i should watch out for? Thanks for every and any reply

It's a complete and utter scam. There is no ebay protection for vehicles, the claim to be out of the country is just part of the scam.
Only ever buy a car that you have seen and only ever pay for it after you have examined it.

After doing a google search on the pictures he has sent led me to a dealership in London! Ive asked him to send a phone number and lo and behold he wont give it out for fear of being inundated with messages and phone calls. Absolute joker!

I image searched to photos he had sent me and they are from a garage so I asked him for his number so I could “call” him but he has not replied😂

Why even bother contacting him, he only wants your money, there is no car, or vehicle protection scheme ( perhaps he means scam ).
