Trolling

Had some nasty messages last night from an ebay member, randomly calling me a Remain voter and saying my item was worth 1p. How do I report them? I have removed the item he commented on.

There should be three dots at the top right of the message which take you to the report function.

Thanks for replying! So I reported it, and eBay haven't upheld my complaint saying it's within their policy guidelines. Nice. Am now closing my account.

Honestly, I wouldn't punish yourself because of some troll. I'd just block them from buying from you and contacting you and would forget about them:

That's up to you, but I think it's an over-reaction.

Trading with strangers on eBay it's inevitable that you will sometimes encounter a nutter.

Compared to the threats, insults and obscenties some members have received, your correspondent's messages are almost laughably trivial. You can't expect eBay to penalise them because they think your item was only worth 1p. Or for calling you a Remain supporter!

Just do the obvious: put them on your blocked bidders list, and forget them.
