So I sell a quite a few low value items that are under £10 and i send via Royal Mail 2nd class small letter. I pay for and print my postage labels on ebay. I have noticed that when I purchase the label a tracking number is automatically added to the order, then a few days later it is wiped! No tracking number to be found!
Also if have had 2 customers now say that their items have not been received and their tracking numbers are also wiped.
I want to raise a claim via packlink but to do so it is asking for the tracking number.
When i enter the tracking number from my post office receipt it is saying incorrect format as 2nd class letter isn't recognised, so I am unable to proceed with any claim through packlink.... do I claim through royal mail instead? They ask where i purchased postage i send me back to ebay.... I am going round in circles!
Any guidance appreciated!

You have to opt out of Simple Delivery in order to use your own postage. The opt-out is only available in certain sub-categories. In FAQs on here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/postage/simple-delivery?targetgroup=C2C
click on "Which listings aren't required to use Simple Delivery?"
There is also a problem with opting out at the moment . If you are eligible see the solution on here:

2nd class large letters are not tracked by Royal Mail so any number showing by ebay will not prove delivery. In fact even to claim on Royal Mail you need a proof of posting.

I am using custom postage! But doni claim through royal mail or ebay packlink for lost items as royal mail are redirecting me back to ebay as I purchased the label on that platform? Then when I try to raise a claim via packlink I cant get past the 1st page as I have no tracking number with an item sent via second class letter. Thanks for your reply BTW! 👍
