Threatening behaviour by Ebay buyer

I recently sold an item on Ebay. After the buyer paid, I received a threatening and abusive email from the buyer complaining about the delivery service that I intended to use and how he was going to hospitalise the next delivery service driver etc. It was a thuggish message full of hate (and no doubt alcohol). I replied, stating that I was not prepared to accept his order and refunded the money. I left it there.

Today, I notice that he has given me unpleasnt negative feedback. I appealed against this decision, but Ebay are refusing to remove the feedback, and are less than helpful as it says iy asheres by tehir policies, which it clearly does not. I have reported the incident both to the Police and to the delivery company. Despite losing a sale, I refuse to accept abusive and threatening behaviour without consequences. Any idea how I can get the neagtive feedback removed? Thank you

Threatening behaviour by Ebay buyer

The feedback itself has nothing that breaks feedback rules, maybe his temper was a little subdued by then and it just reflects his disappointment with presumably a late delivery.

You could try contacting eBay Customer Services again,  but do so only very first thing on a weekday morning when the lines first open at 8a.m. there's more chance of Dublin  answering, and if you direct them to the threatening eBay messages you received,  this may have some bearing on a negative feedback being left soon after.

There is no guarantee here, but worth a try,  nothing to lose, you've left a follow up nothing more you can do from your side.

The easiest and quickest way to contact Customer Services is through this link, for a Call Back .

On weekdays lines open between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Weekends lines open between 9 a.m. to 6p.m.

Oh and importantly ,  have you blocked this charmer from returning to more of your sales?  Do so here , you don't want them returning !

Block the buyer here:

It even says that delivery is by Evri on your listing:

Postage:  £3.50 Evri Tracked

If your buyer has issues with a particular courier company they should at least bother to glance at the postage section at the top of any listing.

Thank you for you helpful reply. I am now more disappointed by Ebay's comment that the threat  was not direct at me, but to Evri. Surely both are unacceptable? I guess they are just not interested in anything but profit.
