Suspicious sales

This week I have seen three Taylormade Qi35 drivers claiming to be brand new unwanted prizes.  Seems unlikely one thing that helps fake sales is the option on eBay now to alter your photos, blanking out the background making them look just like those from legitimate online retailers. This system now allows sellers to take a legitimate photo from the internet and claim it to be their own. At least before you could see a photo taken at the person’s home and study it for signs of a fake.  Remove the option to blank out the background in photos

If only users would read the user agreement they would know that eBay does not guarantee the existence, quality, safety or legality of items advertised, or the truth or accuracy of descriptions".

In other words, descriptions here may be (and sometimes are) untruthful or misleading, and items may be poor quality, unsafe or even illegal.  Who would buy from a shop that stated this? eBay is a jungle.

As regards photos, eBay does indeed now allow sellers to copy and use another seller's photos. So not only may the item not match the description, the photos may not even be of the actual item you will receive.

Certainly there are bargains to be had on eBay, but buyers have to be very, very creful - especially for anything of value or safety is critical.
