This is awful (now there is no opt out with advanced postage option). So now, with Simple Delivery only, to be sure I won't get hit with excess postage charges for incorrect size or weight I have to now, at the point of listing not sale, determine the weight of the item and the packing box I will use (which I do not know in advance).
This has made eBay pretty much unusable for me as a private seller, I tend to add batches pf products in waves as I have a clear-out, but now that process is completely impractical with Simple Delivery only.
What are eBay thinking, BRING BACK OPT OUT VIA 'ADVANCED OPTION'!

That is correct, there is no opt out back to the ' old way'.
Simple Delivery is mandatory now, for Private sellers.
Disliked by many, but it's here, and looks like staying !

Hopefully enough people will find this an abomination and shout loudly, maybe eBay will backtrack, or to put it another way, listen to their users, but maybe that is not their forte 🙂
I do find it insane that eBay thinks we all pack, weigh and measure our items for sale at the point of listing, rather than what I would suggest 99% of private sellers do, which is pack, weigh and measure after sale just prior to shipping.
How badly can eBay private sellers be so misunderstood, or not cared about, for eBay to implement this process that is so destructive to a their customers workflow!

CASE IN POINT!
I have just sold an item weighing 1.6KG. BUT because I pack the item well (as a good seller), when I came to print the label after it was all packed the label was auto generated by 'Simple' Delivery it was 1-2KG, but the excellent packing took me to 2.3KG! So I either post and get hit with extra Evri charges, or unpack it all and prat around trying to find packing box and materials that are lightweight enough to match the 'Simple' label 2Kg total limit, which will probably not protect the delicate contents properly. Not so 'Simple' is it eBay!
The old way, I could have simply selected the correct weight at the point of printing the label and job done!
And I don't care if there are work arounds, like the stupid suggestion I get the buyer to cancel and repurchase, this is just beyond ridiculous and bad customer care for no reason whatsoever, the point is eBay have messed up a private sellers shipping workflow very, very badly, I assume for their own benefit, cos it sure as hell ain't for mine or the majority of private sellers.
