Simple Delivery not so simple - how to request a specific courier as a buyer?

I'll not go over the issues with Evri as it's been widely reported in the press and elsewhere - and there was a post yesterday about an entire village's parcels being dumped in front of a shop.

As a buyer, if a seller has both RM and Evri selected, Ebay seems to automatically pick the cheapest -- which is nearly always Evri. I'd rather use Royal Mail because they're more reliable in my area.

Is there an option - as a buyer - to choose who the Simple Delivery courier is, without having to message the seller and ask them to change their preferences or edit the item?

Most sellers have been really nice about it and a few have even thanked me for telling them about the option, but I'd rather not take up their time if I don't have to.

Cheers.

Buyers can't choose courier but you can get a rough idea because Royal Mail is a bit more expensive than Evri.

If you do a dummy draft listing and play around with the postage you'll see what they charge.   You can temporarily opt out of Evri or RM in your postage preferences so you know which courier is being used on your draft.
