I need a ‘Simple’ explanation please.
Since ‘Simple Delivery’ was introduced should I have changed any details on my pre ‘Simple Delivery’ listings?
I offer ‘free postage’.
Last week I sold a jacket which was listed pre ‘Simple Delivery’. When it sold ebay sent me the ‘Order Details’ which showed the price of the item £24.99, Buyer’s Protection Fee £1.72 and Postage £0.00.
Today, I have sold a jacket which was also listed pre ‘Simple Delivery’ and ebay have sent the ‘Order Details’ but this one shows the price of the item £19.99, Buyer’s Protection Fee £1.52 and Postage £3.20.
I have looked at some of my other listings and they show free postage. Even my most recent listing done with the new system shows Free Postage.
I have found the following article:-
__________
If your eBay listing indicates free postage but the order details show the buyer paid for postage, it’s likely due to a few potential issues:
- 1. Simple Delivery:
If you’re using eBay’s Simple Delivery feature, it might be overriding your free postage setting, especially if the buyer chose an express delivery option. In this case, the buyer will pay for the more expensive delivery, and you won’t be charged for the standard free postage label.
__________
The Order Details show my buyer chose:-
Buyer selected postage service
Royal Mail 2nd Class
They have not chosen an express delivery.
Do I just go to the Post Office and do what I usually do, send parcel Royal Mail, 2nd Class Tracked which costs me £4.05?
I am now apprehensive about adding any new listings as, to me, it is more complicated.
I have added one since the new Simple Delivery system was introduced and have found the postage system not at all ‘simple’ and less flexible re weights and sizes.
