I have just sold a golf club shaft. Because it is considered by Simple Delivery to be a "Bulky Item" the only choice of carrier is DPD at a cost or £12.97! The actual size of the package is 100cm x 5cm x 5cm and it weighs about 500g. The cost to send this item privately, fully insured with signature on delivery with Evri would have been £4.85. Unfortunately DPD is the only carrier allowed by eBay for "bulky items". Furthermore, the DPD service is collection only, which for some may be useful, however when your are out at work during the day, having to stay at home wait for the DPD van to arrive is crazy. Please can ebay offer a choice for carriers for bulkly items so we can get competitive prices, and allow drop off at a parcel shop so we don't have to take time off.
