Hi
Are sellers allowed to sell items they do not have in stock? Basically not once but twice, I’ve been hit by the same company. They offered a 6% for buying multiples of an item ( of which it told you how many they had in stock - next to your quantity choice). First time, they emailed to say none in stock and refunded. Second time, they only sent me 1. Yet I can go on the buy it again and the value stock available is gone up!
Surely this cannot be right!

Nope it's not good selling , citing ' out of stock' will place a defect on the seller's account.
If these mount up, the seller can receive selling sanctions or even a ban from selling.

Many thanks. I thought it wasn’t right, until the seller started gas lighting me and was telling me it’s perfectly fine
