I won an auction with no reserve for a Container. The seller didn’t seem happy with sale , obviously the end price of £520 was not enough. He kept messaging me with different excuses preventing me from collecting it. His last attempt he offered me full refund, I realised he was trying to get rid of me without causing any problems with eBay that might affect his 100% feedback!
after I refused his refund , I explained I just wanted to collect the container I won on eBay.
He then stopped replying to my messages so I asked EBay to step in to help me to resolve this problem so hopefully I would be able to collect my container.
Big mistake! EBay messaged him to send me a refund!
I was sent straight to my account, I had no say in the matter. I spoke to EBay to raise a complaint about this as it’s totally against eBay rules. They said they were going to raise an investigation into this and keep me informed. They haven’t, ever heard nothing about it.
Can anyone advise what I can do about this, if anything?

eBay cannot force a seller to sell. Unless you want to take legal action against the seller there's nothing you can do.

Accept the refund, else you're going to end up without one.
Nobody, including eBay, can force a seller to go ahead with a sale.

adding to the advice already given -
Unfortunately if the seller asks eBay will remove your negative feedback simply because you mention asking eBay to step in.

You ought to read eBay's rules before complaining about them. Nowhere does eBay state that they will - or even can - enforce a sale. Even if you sued the seller for breach of contract, all you could be awarded is damages; even the courts can't force a seller to sell their item.
This seller broke eBay's rules by refusing to sell the item and eBay enforced a full refund in accordance with their money back guarantee - which you accepted in the user agreement. The seller is also liable to be penalised by eBay for failing to resolve this without eBay's intervention.
Unfortunately you broke eBay's rules yourself when leaving feedback by mentioning their involvement. Your feedback is liable to be removed if the seller reports it to ebay.
