Hi guys,
I bought a coffee maker on eBay as a Christmas gift for my wife.
The seller shipped the item using Royal Mail, but it was not delivered because the address was incomplete. The tracking says:
"Sorry, we were unable to deliver this item at 23-12-2024 as it was not possible to identify the delivery address. It will now be returned to the sender."
I believe the seller didn’t include my flat number, even though I provided the correct address via eBay. I know that because he sent me the proof of posting and I cant find my flat number there.
I have been in contact with the seller for weeks. At first, they said they were waiting for Royal Mail to confirm if the item would be returned or refunded, but they stopped replying to my messages. I kindly asked for a refund since I never received the item, but they have not responded.
Unfortunately, my eBay Money Back Guarantee period expired while I was waiting for the Royal Mail investigation, and now I can't open a case or ask eBay to step in through the usual system.
Could you please help me resolve this or advise what I can do? I just want a fair solution, as I never received the item and can’t get a response from the seller anymore.
Thank you!

Your seller did time you out from making a claim via eBay. Royal Mail never ask for this sort of extension and it’s sellers responsibility to refund and claim after.
that aside do not dwell on this payment providers in some cases only allow 120 days for claims so you need to move quick.

Why you have left it this long I don’t know. You need to contact your payment provider to see if they can assist you.

Actually, I believe he manipulated me into not opening a case within the 30-day period, just so I would lose my eligibility for the eBay Money Back Guarantee. He sent me some Royal Mail claim documents that he supposedly filed, and in February, he said Royal Mail had contacted him asking for another 30 days. After that, he stopped responding. At this point, I have no idea whether he received a refund from Royal Mail or eBay.
