That sounds like a fault with Royal Mail's system.

When is the item supposed to be delivered to you?

If you check the email you got from Ebay when you paid, what is the latest estimated delivery date?

Not usual for items to be delivered to a Post Office unless previously arranged --- undelivered mail is usually held in a local area Royal Mail delivery office for redelivery/collection within 18 days.

You have 30 days from estimated delivery date to open an official  'Item not received' case below --- follow the instructions carefully and escalate to eBay on day 4 for their assistance in obtaining a refund --- more case options here >
