Hi everyone, quick query:
I have sent an offer to a buyer who messaged me about my item for sale and he hasn't responded for 2 days. I have now been messaged by another buyer who I'd like to send an offer to but I'm not sure I can do that until my offer to the first buyer has expired (which still has nearly 2 days to run!). I'm also not sure I can receive and accept offers from other buyers before the expiry of my offer. Please can someone advise? Any help very gratefully received!
P.S. my item is currently 'buy it now' only without the option for sellers to make offers but I'd like to change that to allow offers moving forwards...I know how to do this but as above I'm sure I can receive/accept offers from other buyers while my offer to the first buyer is still valid.

I think I have previously answered your question. 🤔
Just add a Best Offer option to this listing then the buyer can send their offer for you to accept through that option.
On the Seller Hub click on the item in active listing. Tick the little box left of the item, then up to either Actions or Sell it Faster tab at the top ( sorry I've stopped selling so cannot remember which tab!! ) from there, select Add Best Offer.
You can receive more than one offer only when you accept is the item sold. Worthwhile though if an offer is received if it's not the one you wish to accept then decline it, also tells the buyer to look elsewhere or even raise their offer.

Your offer is valid for 96 hours.
Until that time expires, you can't make changes to the listing.
It's not usually a good idea to make offers via messages as this can be seen as trying to make an off-Ebay deal.
I would respond to this person's question without making an offer.
Then, if you are prepared to take a bit less than the current price, maybe simply reduce the price slightly.

Thanks very much indeed for your advice. I assume that also means I can't make/receive other offers until the 96 hours period has expired? If so, that's a crazy amount of time to be locked in....won't be doing that again!

Thank you for all your advice - having made an offer directly to a potential buyer who I was messaging with, it seems that I can't do much until the 96 hours offer expiry time has been reached...at least that's my understanding now!

You could receive other offers.
However, unless you had listed the item originally with 'best offers' that won't apply.
