Hi
I recently sold my old motherboard packed it securely and purchased my postage label via Ebay with added protection to the cost of the the sale of the auction. I dropped it of at an Inpost locker on the 4th December but nothing else has happend
It’s been picked up by the courier
5 Dec, 07:56 AM
It's been dropped off by the sender
4 Dec, 03:16 PM
It's being prepped by the sender
4 Dec, 02:45 PM
I contacted Inpost who said let ebay know but I am no further forward with either of them. The only useful thing I know was in the Inpost email they said it was Yodel who collected it but I see they are having label issues so don't know if thats affecting things
"Yodel - “We are currently not taking any additional bookings for parcel drops offs. Any parcels that have already been dropped into store or collected will travel through our network a little slower than usual but you can keep up to date with your parcel’s progress here www.yodel.co.uk/track or within My eBay”
Anyway what's best way to go forward seller has asked for a refund
Should I refund him?
ask him to Initiate an item not received and then claim and who is it I claim (inpost/ Ebay labels)
or wait.
Never had any parcels go missing just arrived later
TIA

Ask the buyer to open a case but suggest they should perhaps give it a few more days because of the issues with Yodel. If you can, send them a link about the Yodel issues and remind them they have up to 30 days after the latest estimated delivery date to open a case. Be sympathetic, but stress that this is not your fault as you posted the item promptly.
If you refund the buyer and then the item turns up, you are dependent on the buyer's honest to repay you or return the item.
You will be able to eventually claim from Yodel via Packlink but the item should hopefully be delivered before you are eligible to make a claim.

To add to the good advice given,Yodel is extremely slow at updating it's tracking and making deliveries at the moment,so as said, the item should eventually arrive.
I recently had a yodel delivery take 10 days to be delivered.

Thanks its good to know that deliveries are taking longer and reassuring me 10 days or so seems the norm at the moment. Thats my worry. I refund just now and it turns up later

Most buyers are honest one's, so if you explain to them about the delays, which can also arrive on a Sunday, and the reassurance you will be happy to refund if the item doesn't eventually show, I'm sure they will understand

inpost have now confirmed they lost my parcel and I have refunded the seller. Does anyone know if you can reclaim the cost of the postage as it looks like they only will pay for the value of the goods on the claim.
Thanks

The impost form will allow you to claim compensation for the lost parcel, so best look at making the claim
