I’ve been an eBay member for 29 years. Recently sold and item and purchased postage (with insurance) through eBay. Posted the item and then the buyer reported that it was damaged in delivery. I tried to claim through parcel force but they said they weren’t interested as I didn’t buy the postage directly through them. I contacted eBay and they said they weren’t interested as I needed to claim from parcel force! I went round in this loop three times with parcel force and eBay both refuting any responsibility. My contract is with eBay as I paid them for postage. To make matters worse, they refunding the buyer (no issues with that) and sent them a postage label to send the item back to me. I never received the item back (tracking photo shows the item next to a front door that isn’t mine)! And the net result is that eBay have charged me back for the item AND the return postage!! And I didn’t even get the item back. There seems no way of reporting this with eBay. The help pages force you down a route that just doesn’t allow me to appeal. Is there anything I can do? I don’t even think what eBay have done is legal, and not accepting a claim for postage for a postage label I bought directly from eBay is scandalous. Please help!!!

You need to claim through Packlink see here:
As you purchased postage via eBay you need to claim from Packlink, you can start that here:

Hi. Thank you so much for such a quick reply! I have tried the link using the tracking number, but it says it cannot be found. The link lists a number of parcel carriers but not ParcelForce. Is there a different link for deliveries for this? It was sent using ParcelForce48 (signed for).
Thank you, Jamie.

Sorry Jamie, I do not use Packlink preferring to pay for over the counter postage at my Post Office possible for now anyways !
That is the only link I have for Packlink refunds for postage labels not used.
Although this reply I know is not helpful, It will bump it to the top hopefully someone using Parcelforce 48 via Packlink will come along and help you further here.

Thanks so much for your help so far. I can’t believe that I spend money on buying postage (with insurance) from eBay and then when the carrier breaks the item, eBay aren’t interested ☹️
