Seller hasnt got the item he has sold and ive waited 3/4 days

Hello,

I bought some football boots on 24th, and it was listed as dispatch < 3 working days. I contacted him yesterday (26th) to check status of order and he said it would be dispatched within 24 hours, now after waiting 24 hours I asked again and no dispatch message and now he tells me he needs to talk to his supplier (so assume he hasn't even got the item he is selling (??), and that it will be Monday because he gets a reply. 

At this point I requested a cancel on the order as I don't intend on waiting nearly a week to get a reply even about dispatch let alone receiving the item, so essentially refusing to cancel my order until he talks to his 'supplier'. What can I do? 

Seems I just have wait until he dispatches it as ebay cant step in?

Once the estimated delivery passes,you can open a not received case with eay for a refund if the boots don't arrive.

To be fair if you bought on the 24th and the seller dispatches within 3 days then it is still early to expect a delivery.
