Seller denying they sold item

I bought an item for £200. When it came to installing the item was broken inside & unusable. I contacted the seller who said they have never sold the item! They then somehow removed the item & it is no longer in my purchased items list so I cannot raise a return dispute.

The only way I found to contact eBay was to make a complaint about the seller, they said they are looking into it but that was 2 weeks ago, the seller is still selling, do I have any other options on how to deal with this?

any help much appreciated

How long ago did you buy, as seller cannot remove from your purchases, only that to see it you might need to use the drop down menu, to see other periods.

This would also mean that you are well over the 30 days allowed by ebay for returns.

If out of time, then you could try your payment provider.

As advised, when you bought the item is important.  When did you receive it?
If it is a recent purchase, is it possible that you bought as a guest without signing into your Ebay account?

That would explain why it is not in your purchases list and, if you messaged the seller from this account, they would not have any record of selling to you.

As advised by @jckl1957  you probably bought as a guest.

If you are still witin 30 days of delivery open a case through the confirmation email you were sent.
