Seller Rating Limitations

My account is currently limited because I have a 4.6% defect rate. As such I can’t list anything new or edit any extant listings to drop prices to try to push for positive sales.

My BIN items are now coming to the end of their listing cycle and I can’t relist them despite them being extant when the limitation were put in place.

This feels like a battle that can’t be won sadly. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Seller Rating Limitations

You are right, the only way to improve a defect rate is a massive increase in sales, which a selling restriction will not help.

In fact as time goes by the defect rate will get worse, and only improve when the defects start dropping out of the calculation and it gets to 2% or below.

This maybe ebay’s way of ensuring that seller is more careful in future, as in most cases defects relate to cases opened by buyers, which seller fails to deal with promptly, and buyer has to escalate.

Just reading negative feedback, and it seems to me that buyers did not know that if they open NOT AS DESCRIBED CASES, you the seller have to supply return labels, as they all mention something like “ could not be bothered to return” as though they thought they had to pay.
